Alvan Blanch Roller Mill Installation
We recently had a request from a local livestock farmer to upgrade his Roller Mill as his aged Hunt unit had become Outdated, Unreliable and was not producing an acceptable crushed meal for his livestock.
We were asked to find a unit that would slip into his existing system easily and to keep installation time to a minimum as his animals required constant feed.
Our solution was to install an Alvan Blanch RV 280 Roller Mill and due to space restrictions between the existing Feed Hopper and Mixer we attached a small custom made Auger feed system to give a constant feed into the mixer, as well as this our customer asked us to fit a mesh panel to the inside of his existing feed hopper to prevent large stones or foreign objects from entering the mixer.
The installation was carried out over a day and a half which included commissioning, testing and operator training. The system has been up and running now trouble free for over 4 weeks. The benefits the new mill has brought to our customer include a more reliable feed system producing evenly crushed meal over a shorter time period, (mixing time has been reduced by over 70% due to the mixer is not waiting on the mill) this has freed up time to spend on other tasks around the farm.
